How Ludo is played
- Each player has four tokens in a yard and takes turns rolling one die.
- Roll a six to move a token onto the board. A six also gives you another roll.
- Move clockwise round the track, then up your own coloured column to the centre.
- Land exactly on an opponent to send that token back to its yard.
- Starred squares are safe: a token standing on one cannot be captured.
- Reach the centre with an exact roll. All four tokens home wins the game.

Tips that win games
- Bring a second token out as soon as you can — one runner on its own is easy to hunt down.
- Before moving, count how many squares an opponent sits behind you. Within six, you can be hit.
- Stop on starred squares when you are being chased.
- In a timed game, steady points beat a risky dash for home.
