How to Read a Gaming Bonus: What “Up To ₹71” Really Means
On this page
A welcome bonus is an advertisement with numbers in it. The numbers are true — and chosen to look as large as possible. Learning to read them takes ten minutes and applies to every platform you will ever use. We will use the welcome bonus that GoPlay11 and Drem both list as the worked example.
The offer, as written
| Level | Deposit from | Bonus | Gullak Cash | Fantasy Voucher |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lv.1 | ₹100 | up to ₹71 | up to ₹82 | up to ₹48 × 1 |
| Lv.2 | ₹500 | up to ₹251 | up to ₹252 | up to ₹48 × 1 |
| Lv.3 | ₹1,000 | up to ₹401 | up to ₹402 | up to ₹48 × 1 |
Five phrases and what they mean
“Up to”
A ceiling, not a promise. “Up to ₹71” means you receive ₹71 at most. What decides the actual amount is in the terms on the bonus card.
“Deposit from ₹100”
The minimum deposit that qualifies for that level. Depositing ₹499 still gets you Level 1; you need ₹500 for Level 2.
“Deposit Cash — Instant”
This is your own money, credited straight away. It is listed on the card, but it is not a gift.
“Bonus” and “Gullak Cash”
Two separate extras. A bonus balance is normally not the same as cash: it usually has to be played through before anything from it can be withdrawn. “Gullak” is Hindi for a piggy bank — a balance kept apart from your main wallet. How each is released is stated in the terms.
“× 1”
One voucher. The fantasy voucher is the same size at every level, so it is worth relatively more with a small deposit.
Six questions to answer before you deposit
- What exactly do I receive — the maximum, or something smaller?
- Is there a turnover requirement? How many times must the bonus be wagered before it can be withdrawn?
- Which games count? Some games count in full, some in part, some not at all.
- Is there a time limit? A bonus that expires in a few days needs more play than one that lasts a month.
- Is there a cap on what I can win from it?
- What happens if I withdraw early? On many platforms an early withdrawal cancels the bonus.
If you cannot find the answer to one of these on the bonus card or in the rules, ask support before depositing. A platform that cannot answer is telling you something.
Turn the headline into a percentage
Big numbers are less impressive once you divide by the deposit.
| Level | Deposit | Bonus + Gullak Cash (max) | As % of deposit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lv.1 | ₹100 | ₹153 | 153% |
| Lv.2 | ₹500 | ₹503 | 101% |
| Lv.3 | ₹1,000 | ₹803 | 80% |
The smallest deposit has the best ratio. That is common: welcome offers are designed to make the first step easy. It also means there is no reason to deposit more than you planned “for the bonus”.
Why turnover matters more than the amount
Suppose a ₹100 bonus must be wagered ten times. That is ₹1,000 of bets. On a game that returns 97% on average, ₹1,000 of bets costs about ₹30 — so the bonus is worth roughly ₹70, not ₹100. At thirty times it would cost about ₹90 and be worth almost nothing. The same bonus can be generous or pointless depending on one line of small print. These figures are an illustration, not the terms of any particular offer.
Red flags
- No terms shown anywhere near the offer.
- A bonus that arrives automatically and locks your own deposit until it is wagered.
- Terms that changed after you deposited.
- Someone on Telegram or WhatsApp offering a “special” bonus in exchange for a transfer.
The same bonus, two platforms
When we checked, GoPlay11 and Drem listed identical welcome levels. Where they differ is in what comes afterwards — Drem’s daily race is three times larger. The details are on our GoPlay11 bonus page.
